MY PERFECT BODY GUARD CHAPTER THIRTY -FIVE :A RISKY RETREAT

While Richard raced away from the company, he made a quick decision to veer off to a nearby clinic to get Linda the medical attention she desperately needed. The small clinic, tucked away inside the city, appeared to have limited customers, and the nurse attending to patients was a young woman in her early twenties. The lack of development in the clinic was evident, but Richard had no other choice at this critical moment.

"Please help my friend," Richard urgently requested as he carried Linda inside the clinic. Fortunately, the nurse on duty wasn't attending to any other patients, and the clinic remained empty, creating a sense of relief.

The nurse, as she donned her coat, commented, "It's been a while since I attended to a customer." Richard, looking at her, felt a bit uneasy, but she quickly clarified, "Oh, not in that way. I just meant I haven't had a patient in a while."

"Please, just treat her," Richard pleaded, focusing on Linda's well-being.

The nurse instructed, "Alright, bring her to the bed. Let me examine her wounds." With care, Richard gently placed Linda on the bed, while the nurse illuminated the examination area with a bright overhead light. She carefully assessed Linda's injuries and prepared an injection, extracting a liquid substance from one of her bottles.

"This will help alleviate the pain," the nurse assured Richard before administering the injection. She proceeded to dress Linda's wounds on her face and arms, while Richard, who had been panicked, gradually calmed down and slumped into a chair in the clinic beside Linda, relieved that she was receiving the care she needed.

"Is she going to be okay?" Richard anxiously asked as he held Linda's hands.

The nurse reassured him, "Don't worry, your friend will be fine."

Richard corrected her, "She's not my girlfriend," his frustration apparent.

"Hey, take it easy," the nurse said with a smile. "She will be okay."

"Thanks," Richard replied, appreciating her comforting words.

As they continued their conversation, Richard noticed that the police were swarming the area. He swiftly went outside to hide his bike and then returned to the clinic, heading upstairs.

"Um, nurse, what's your name, please?" Richard inquired.

"Tasha," she replied with a smile, still tending to Linda's wounds.

"Well, they won't come in here, will they?" Richard questioned.

Tasha reassured him, "This clinic isn't very popular, so I doubt they will notice it."

As they conversed, they saw news on the TV about two thieves who had attempted to steal from the company but had managed to escape. The police urged everyone in the city that if they ever saw a young man, showing Richard's face, they should report it to the police.

Richard looked at Tasha in fear, but she offered comforting words, "Relax, I won't snitch. Don't worry, I promise."

"Thanks," Richard expressed his gratitude.

Tasha, curious about their situation, inquired, "So, tell me, what exactly did you guys steal from the company?"

Richard explained, "Well, she's the owner of the company by rights, but they took it away from her, so we're trying to get it back," pointing at the sleeping Linda.

Tasha's eyes widened in realization, "Wait, she's Jim's daughter?"

"Yeah, she is," Richard confirmed.

Tasha was surprised, "Wow, I thought she was dead."

Richard clarified, "Well, she isn't."

As they waited for Linda to wake up, Richard eventually drifted off to sleep. He was awakened by a tap on his shoulder, and to his surprise, it was Linda.

"Hey, you should be resting," Richard expressed his concern.

Linda reassured him, "Don't worry, we should head back to the hotel and replan our next move."

Richard was hesitant, "Hey, the police are all over the city, looking for you. I don't think that's the right idea as it stands now." The danger of their situation weighed heavily on him.

Linda looked determined but also conflicted. "What do you mean?" she asked.

Richard tried to reason with her, "Hey, I know how badly you want your company back, but you need to be at your full strength if you want to take it. I'm sorry, but right now, it's really not going to happen."

Linda's frustration was evident. "I can't just sit and watch that woman run a company my ancestors worked so hard to build."

Richard pressed on, "I'm not saying you should abandon your rights. I'm saying we should lay low for a while, get out of the city, and plan our next move from a safer position."

Linda contemplated his words, torn between her desire for justice and the practicality of their situation.

Linda, after considering their options, asked, "Where do we head now?"

Richard replied, "We go to my house and lay low for a while. Once you recover, we come back and finish what we started. Trust me, I promise you we will see this thing through to the end. I promise to be loyal to you no matter the circumstances."

Touched by Richard's loyalty and dedication, Linda couldn't help herself. She immediately hugged him warmly, expressing her gratitude. "Thank you for sticking around with me even when you know the danger. You're truly a rare person."

Their bond and determination to achieve justice were evident, and they were now united in their plan to regroup and continue their mission when the time was right.

Gloria, upon her return to the company, was shocked to see many of her security personnel injured and receiving treatment.

"So, you mean to tell me that an 18-year-old boy took down 36 men at once?" she asked Robert.

Robert, still somewhat in disbelief, replied, "Mom, even I can't believe it. If I wasn't here to witness it, I'd have trouble believing it. I don't know much about combat, but I can tell you that this kid is the real deal."

Gloria's thoughts turned to Jim and his connection to the boy. "So, Jim really didn't just abandon his daughter like that. That's intriguing," she muttered. With determination in her eyes, she instructed, "I want that kid alive. No matter what it takes, get me information about him, and tell me everything you know about him." Robert and Mike nodded and left to carry out her orders.

Once they left, Gloria dialed a phone number with a determined expression. She spoke to the recipient on the other end, "I have a job for you. Come to my house, and I will provide you with all the details you need." A sinister smile crept across her face as she envisioned her plan moving forward.
