MY PERFECT BODY GUARD CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN:BON VOYAGE
After weeks turned into months, Linda continued to stay at Richard's house. One Saturday morning, she found herself in the kitchen, assisting Richard's mom in preparing breakfast. Richard, on the other hand, was busy in his workshop, where he was working on constructing an electronic baton designed to deliver a powerful electric shock upon contact.
As he was engrossed in his project, his former master, Damian, made his way to the workshop and inquired, "What are you planning to do with that, Richard?"
"I'm not someone with a natural inclination for violence, but my adversaries certainly possess a deadly intent," he replied. "That's why I need to be prepared."
"You're right," Damian acknowledged, "Electrocuting them at close range is a clever approach. But what if they're armed with guns? Do you believe you'll be able to get close enough to use it against them?"
Richard paused for a moment, considering Damian's question. "You're right, Damian," he admitted. "Getting close might not always be an option, especially if they have guns. I need to think of a more versatile defense."
Damian nodded in agreement. "You should explore other non-lethal options as well, like pepper spray or a taser gun with a longer range. It's important to be prepared for various scenarios."
"What about a gun, but the bullets will be loaded with tranquilizers," Richard explained.
"Wow, that's a brilliant choice," Damian remarked. "Let's get to work right away."
Working on crafting the tranquilizer pistols turned out to be a smooth process for them, especially with Damian's extensive experience as a blacksmith. After a few hours of dedicated work, they successfully created three guns: one for Linda and two for Richard. They proceeded to build the electronic baton.
Upon completion, Richard took out money to pay Damian, but Damian declined the offer. "Hey, kid, you've helped me build this place, and this is the least I can do for you. It was an honor to work on something for you," Damian said appreciatively.
"Thank you very much," Richard expressed his gratitude.
Damian then offered a word of caution, saying, "And another thing, boy, don't get yourself killed."
"I will do my best," Richard assured as he accepted the tranquilizer pistols and the electronic baton with tranquilizer bullets.
Before heading home, Richard added, "I should go and buy the tranquilizers. I'll do that on my way back." With that, he left Damian's shop, prepared to continue his mission.
After buying the tranquilizers, Richard headed home, where Linda had already prepared to accompany him to the city. Maria, Richard's mother, had collected a variety of foodstuffs for their journey, which they stuffed into their travel bag as they prepared to leave.
Cynthia, who had formed a close sisterly bond with Linda, was already in tears. They shared an emotional moment as Linda expressed, "I'm really going to miss you."
Cynthia replied, "Me too." She added, "Once I get everything back, I will surely come back for you guys because you've already found a place in my heart. Thanks for being like family."
Linda then shared a heartfelt hug with Cynthia and Maria, and Richard watched with a smile. Cynthia invited Richard to join the group hug, saying, "Why don't you get over here?"
Richard replied, "It's alright, guys. Let's go," as he gently pulled away from the hug. Linda left for the city, and Richard turned to his mother.
"You don't have to worry; I'm stronger than you think," he reassured her.
Maria responded, "I know you are. May the heavens watch over you for me." She kissed Richard's forehead, expressing her maternal concern and love.
As Richard and Linda departed, Cynthia chimed in, saying to Richard, "Hey man, look after my sister for me," and they all shared a laugh before continuing their journey.
