MY PERFECT BODYGUARD CHAPTER THIRTEEN CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

Richard Emma, and Nina remained in a state of shock, particularly Nina, who was unaware of Gloria's identity but sensed the gravity of the situation.

"Please, don't scare me, guys. What's going on?" Nina asked, her voice tinged with concern.

"Gloria is Jim's stepmom, the one Richard fought against to overthrow from the company last year," Emma explained, filling Nina in on the background. "She's currently in jail now."

"Well, if she's in jail, then why the worried face? Our problem is Gideon, not someone in prison," Nina reasoned.

"You don't understand!" Richard shouted. "The only one who could fill us in with information about this Gideon guy may not even open up. This is so messed up!"

Nina nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Okay, if you put her in jail, then she won't get to tell us anything because of what you did to her," she said, addressing Emma.

Emma nodded in acknowledgment. "So, what's the plan?" Nina asked again.

"We don't have a choice. The only thing we need to do is confront her," Richard said firmly.

"Won't that be a waste of time? For all we know, she hates you like hell," Emma pointed out.

"We have to try. Or do you have any other option? I'd be glad if you did," Richard challenged.

Emma's lack of response to Richard indicated that he didn't have a solid plan.

"Then we visit her now, immediately," Richard declared, heading to change his clothes, with Nina and Emma following suit.

"Hey, Nina, you should stay here and work on the weapons," Emma proposed.

"Why am I not staying here? Why do you guys keep going out? From now on, we do everything together," Nina said firmly, as Richard and Emma nodded in agreement. They left the room, entered the car, and drove off together.

As they drove, the journey took about an hour at a normal speed.

Upon reaching the state CID, they were informed that only one person could visit a prisoner at a time. Richard suggested that he should go since he's the only one Gloria recognizes.

"Wow, not even Robert, my son, has ever visited ever since I was arrested, and here is you," Gloria remarked.

"Well, I'm just here to ask you something," Richard said, his tone firm. "And there isn't another way, so don't have hopes."

"Look at you, just trying to act so tough outside. But you're timid on the inside. If only you weren't this weak on the inside, imagine how powerful you could be," Gloria taunted.

"If only you understood what love is all about, you wouldn't say I'm weak," Richard retorted.

Gloria roared in laughter. "Linda has really gotten into you," she remarked.

"So, why are you here?" Gloria asked.

"I was thinking, what made you have so much confidence that you went on to kill Jim and stake your claim on the company. Now I understand why. You always had Gideon's help. He backed you up, but it seems that you failed," Richard said sternly.

"It seems that you came all the way to mock me, seriously?" Gloria questioned with a mix of frustration and resignation.

"I admit it, you won, and I'm in jail, but why do you still try to torment me?" Gloria asked again.

"Well, I'm here because whoever this Gideon guy is, he's back and wants to claim the company," Richard explained.

Upon hearing Richard's words, Gloria was shocked. She stared at Richard, her expression filled with concern.

"You guys should run for your lives," Gloria urged. "If you want to leave, abandon the company and run for your lives. If possible, leave Linda and run for yours."

"That's why I'm here, for you to tell me intel on him," Richard insisted.

"Trust me, you don't want to mess with the Falcon Fraternity or Gideon himself. He will kill you," Gloria said in fear as she stood up, pacing around the room.

"Please, calm down and talk to me," Richard urged.

"For all I know, this Gideon guy has the CIA and FBI in his palm. And if your release wasn't orchestrated by him, then it means that you went up against him," Richard said, his voice tinged with concern.

Gloria finally sat down, her demeanor reflecting a mix of resignation and concern.

"It's unlike Gideon to show himself around like that. So when he does, it means he's giving his all," Gloria said, her voice filled with apprehension.

"Yes, you're right, clever boy," Gloria acknowledged. "I went up against him," she explained. "Do you know why I did that?" she asked, looking at Richard, who indicated that he had no idea.

"It was because of you. I figured out that if I had you in my empire, maybe I would be like him. But I lost you in the end," Gloria confessed. "Gideon is not your regular villain. He's smarter and stronger than I can ever be. If you're going to go against him, you have to be strong mentally and physically. Just because you were able to take me down with the CIA doesn't mean you can do the same to Gideon. That's all I can tell you. Just know you're going on a suicide mission," she warned solemnly.

"But just know that there is a way out of this. Just take your family and run as far as you can. I'm sure Linda won't join you, so I know you love your family more than you love her. My advice to you is to run," Gloria urged, her tone serious.

"Look at me again. I thought I was going for this fight because of my family, but every time I remember that Linda's life is at stake, it makes me want to stand and fight for her," Richard said earnestly. "I'm not running away because I know Linda needs me. So please, I beg you, tell me what I have to do to stop this," he pleaded.

"There is no way to beat Gideon. People more significant than you, richer, smarter, and scarier, all failed," Gloria said solemnly.

"You once said I was a wild card, and the reason why you stood against Gideon was because you had me."Richard said

"I think that's enough for me to be motivated," Richard said, smiling confidently.

"You don't want to mess with the Falcon Fraternity," Gloria warned.

"Well, I think they messed up with me first," Richard countered with a smirk.

"Don't worry, I will visit you once everything is over. At least I didn't come here for nothing," Richard said, smiling, as he left.

When Gloria was informed she had a visitor, she was thrilled. As they came out and noticed, it was Richard.
