MY PERFECT BODYGUARD 2 CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR BETRAYAL EMBRACE
Linda was gripped with grave panic upon learning that Franklin wasn't who he appeared to be. Standing at the river banks of the villa, she was lost in deep contemplation. After spending a considerable amount of time by the water, she gathered herself and made her way back to the house, pretending ignorance to ensure her own safety.
Despite her inner turmoil, she couldn't muster the courage to reach out to Richard, whom she had previously pushed away. Feelings of sadness and fear overwhelmed her, yet she knew she had to conceal these emotions.
Upon arriving at the house, Linda found Franklin already cooking. As he noticed her return, he approached her and enveloped her in a hug. "Hey, you had me worried. I'm sorry for acting like a jerk. I promise I won't smoke again," he reassured her. Linda nodded in acknowledgment and quietly made her way to the room.
As Linda made her way to the room, Franklin noticed her somber mood and inquired, "Hey, is there anything going on?"
"Not really. Let me bath and change, and I'll come join you," she replied, offering a smile.
After they had dinner, Franklin mentioned that he had to go to the hospital to sign some documents.
"Why tonight?" Linda asked, curious about the timing.
"That's because the supplies are running low, so I need to sign to get new ones so we will be able to work," Franklin explained.
"It's okay," Linda said softly.
As Franklin leaned in to kiss her lips, she turned her head slightly, causing his kiss to land on her chin. Franklin felt awkward but decided to let it pass.
"I will be back by 11, so sleep without me," he said as he set off.
As Franklin departed, Linda wasted no time in leaving the house as well. She trailed Franklin using the bike they received as a wedding gift since Franklin had taken the car.
As she followed him, she noticed that Franklin wasn't actually heading in the direction of the hospital, but rather toward another location. She continued to follow him until he reached a warehouse. Franklin stepped out and went inside. Linda discreetly parked her bike where it wouldn't be noticed and followed him on foot.
As Linda entered the warehouse, she began to hear voices. She looked ahead and saw an intimidating figure, tall and imposing—it was Gideon, speaking with Franklin.
"How was the marriage? I hope it went well, and every document to share the properties was signed by you," Gideon asked Franklin, who nodded in response.
"And the company too, you're now a shareholder too?" Gideon inquired again.
"Yes, in fact, I own as many shares as her. So we automatically have everything, and if she dies, it all becomes mine," Franklin replied callously.
Gideon let out an evil laugh and took a drag from his cigarette, blowing out the smoke. "If that's done, then kill the girl," he commanded.
"What? But we had an agreement that we would stay for a while," Franklin protested.
"Wait for a while? I have waited enough. I have always wanted this company since Jim had it. Now, I can't wait. Kill the witch and get me the shares," Gideon ordered. "You can leave now," he added dismissively.
As Franklin was about to walk out, they heard footsteps.
"Guards!" Gideon called out, and his Falcon men emerged.
"Someone's over there!" one of them pointed out, noticing Linda.
Realizing she had been spotted, Linda dashed out in a hurry.
The men pursued Linda, and despite her efforts, she couldn't outrun them. In no time, they apprehended her and brought her before Gideon, holding her firmly.
"I was wondering when a smart girl like you would figure out that she's been played. Your family has a reputation for being clever in your history, but you and your dad were the weakest of them all. So pathetic," Gideon sneered, a cruel satisfaction in his words.
"Linda," Franklin interjected, attempting to assist her. "What are you doing here? Okay, let's go home," he suggested, extending a hand to help her up.
"Go where exactly?" Gideon inquired, his tone dripping with menace.
"I've heard of you, Gideon Hopper. Wanting my company. Believe me, people far better than you tried, but they failed," Linda retorted defiantly.
Gideon let out a harsh laugh. "Oh my God, are you serious? You mean to tell me Gloria is better than I am? Sweetheart, you hurt my feelings," he mocked, his tone laced with sarcasm.
"How do you know Gloria?" Linda asked incredulously. "How?"
"It was I who gave her the power to get at the company in exchange for giving it to me. She grew greedy and wanted the company for herself," Gideon explained with a sinister grin.
"This time, not even the CIA, FBI, or any other people will save you because they fear me," Gideon boasted confidently. "And as for the Richard boy, I can handle him," he added dismissively.
"Now that you've known my secrets, it's high time I take you out," Gideon declared ominously.
"Richard will definitely come for me," Linda insisted.
Gideon laughed mockingly. "You mean the Richard you pushed away three times? I don't think so," he taunted.
"Guards, I want you all to prepare and stage a car accident in which she will die. Let the news spread, and get the journalists ready to broadcast it," Gideon ordered as he stood up and left. Linda was left terrified and in tears as she gazed at Franklin.
"I trusted you," she whispered, her voice filled with betrayal and despair.
