MY PERFECT BODYGUARD 2 CHAPTER TWENTY SIX THE SHOWDOWN AND THE RESCUE MISSION
As the arrow struck one of the Falcon men, he crumpled to the ground in agony, sending a shockwave of fear through the remaining Falcons. They looked up to see Richard, poised above them with another arrow notched to his bow.
"I said, get away from her!" Richard's voice boomed, his eyes flashing with determination as he drew two more arrows simultaneously and let them fly. The arrows found their marks, felling two more men who collapsed to the ground in pain.
In the midst of the chaos, some of the Falcons fled in terror while others opened fire at Richard. With lightning reflexes, he dodged the incoming bullets, swiftly evading their attacks as he made a strategic retreat from the scene.
"Nina, I'm going to draw the Falcon away from Linda. You guys go get her," Richard said urgently through their earpiece.
"What? Are you insane? They'll kill you! Let's fight them together," Emmanuel protested, his voice filled with concern.
"I appreciate your concern, but the mission was to rescue Linda, not to win a fight," Richard replied, his tone resolute as he continued racing ahead, the Falcons hot on his heels.
As the Falcon fraternity closed in on Richard, encircling him, he gripped his bow and arrow tightly, swinging it around as he waited for someone to make the first move.
Then, Gideon stepped into the circle, his approach measured and calculated. "I have to admit, no one has ever outsmarted the Falcons like you did. I'm impressed," he remarked, his voice laced with begrudging admiration. "Too bad a talent like yours will go to waste."
"Believe me, Gideon, I'm just rolling my eyes," Richard retorted, a smirk playing on his lips.
Gideon gestured around them, indicating the multitude of men surrounding Richard, all with guns trained on him. "Look around you. You're surrounded by fifty men, all with guns pointed at you. Try evading that, and let's see," he challenged. "I gave you every chance to flee, but you decided to be stubborn over a girl who doesn't even want you."
"Well, she may not want me, but I want her. I'm a persistent guy, you know," Richard quipped, his tone defiant as he faced off against Gideon and his formidable army.
"You stubborn brat," Gideon seethed, his frustration evident as he commanded one of the Falcons to shoot at Richard. A laser hit Richard, causing him to slump momentarily.
However, it was clear that Richard wasn't the one who fired the shot. Confusion swept through the Falcons as they scanned the area, trying to locate the source of the laser.
"What's that? Men, take cover!" Gideon demanded, his voice tinged with urgency.
"You said you had fifty men around me," Richard retorted, a smirk playing on his lips. "Well, you kinda have. Two hundred war drones gazing at you."
Immediately, hundreds of drones began raining down fire on the Falcons, who scrambled for cover, their shouts of panic drowned out by the chaos of battle. Gideon, protected by his loyal Falcons, remained shielded as they covered him, ensuring that the deadly rain of fire did not touch him.
Meanwhile, some of the Falcons launched themselves at Richard, their attacks fierce and unrelenting. However, Richard met their onslaught with skill and determination, engaging them in combat one after the other. With swift and calculated movements, he subdued them one at a time, his resolve unwavering as he fought to protect himself and those he cared about from the clutches of Gideon and his forces.
Linda remained tied to a chair beside the car, guarded by five Falcons who kept a close watch on her every move. Suddenly, Emmanuel sprang into action, launching a sweep tackle that took one of the Falcons by surprise. This diversion drew the attention of the other four, giving Emmanuel the opportunity to swiftly subdue three of them before they could react.
As the remaining two Falcons attempted to ready their guns, Nina intervened with expert precision, shooting them down with tranquilizer darts before they could pose any further threat.
"You see, I just saved your ass. You owe me one," Nina quipped as she moved to untie Linda. "Are you okay?"
"Hey, I took down three of them! The other two could have been a walk in the park for me," Emmanuel interjected, a hint of frustration evident in his voice.
"That doesn't sound like a thank you for saving my ass," Nina teased lightly as she finished untying Linda and helped her to her feet.
Emmanuel sighed, hitting his head with his palm in frustration. "Anyway, you're my girlfriend. I mean, looking after you is my priority," he replied, unable to find the right words to express his gratitude.
Nina looked at Emmanuel with a playful smirk, enjoying the moment of banter between them.
"Hey, we're friends with Richard. We're here to help out. I'm Nina, and this is my boyfriend, Emma, Richard's best friend," Nina introduced as they hurriedly made their way out of the warehouse.
"What about Richard?" Linda asked, concern etched on her face.
"Well, he's kind of drawing away a good number of the Falcons from you. So let's make his sacrifice worth it," Nina replied, determination evident in her voice as they raced out of the warehouse, determined to regroup and strategize their next move.
As Richard continued to engage in combat with the Falcons, his exhaustion began to weigh on him, forcing him to focus more on evading their attacks rather than launching his own offensive strikes. With each evasive maneuver, he seized the opportunity to counterattack, taking down any Falcon he could reach.
After a prolonged battle between Richard and his drones against the Falcons, the tide began to turn. The Falcons, fatigued and outnumbered, started to retreat from the fight. Laura's strategic maneuvers had taken a toll on them, dealing a significant blow to their forces.
This defeat marked a rare moment in the history of the Falcons, who had seldom faced such a setback. As they fled the scene, Gideon raced into his car and sped off, leaving Richard with a chilling reminder that this was only the beginning, and that the battle was far from over.
After the relief washed over him, Richard reached out to Laura. "Hey, how's the weather, Laura?"
"Well, every Falcon member has fled, while some are injured," Laura responded.
"Okay, let's get out of here," Richard said decisively as he sped away.
On his way to the agreed-upon meeting place, where a helicopter of police and army personnel awaited, Richard breathed a sigh of relief. He was fortunate enough to have fled the scene just in time.
As he arrived where Emmanuel, Linda, and Nina were waiting, Emma and Nina rushed to him, enveloping him in a tight hug. "Oh my god, we did it! We won against the Falcons! I can't believe this," Emma exclaimed, their joy palpable as they embraced each other. Linda looked on, her expression a mix of relief and gratitude as she joined in the celebration of their hard-earned victory.
After the warm embrace with Emma and Nina, Richard approached Linda, his gaze filled with tenderness as he attempted to hug her. However, Linda pushed him away, her expression guarded.
"Just because you saved me doesn't make us even," Linda said firmly, her tone tinged with a hint of resentment and unresolved emotions.
