MY PERFECT BODYGUARD 2 CHAPTER NINE:UNSEEN ADVERSARYS

Victor awakens in the morning, making his way to the bathroom. Following a refreshing hot shower, he tends to his body and dresses in his attire, readying himself to venture out. In the midst of his preparations, a phone call interrupts his routine.

Curious, he inquires, "What's the matter?" The caller informs him that it's been a week since she hasn't shown up for work, and all attempts to contact her have failed. Victor is urged to intervene, given that he might be the only person she'll listen to. The caller emphasizes the company's declining sales.

"Sure, I'll do my best," Victor assures, concluding the call before setting out. Stepping into his Bentley truck, he starts the engine and begins the journey to Linda's house.

En route to Linda's residence, Victor encounters one of her employees. Inquiring about Linda's well-being, he asks, "I heard she hasn't left her home for weeks. Can I see her?"

The employee hesitates, revealing, "She's instructed us not to enter her room, threatening to fire us if we do. She's made it clear to keep our distance. I'm sorry; I can't assist you."

Curious, Victor presses on, "Where is she now?"

"In her room," the maid responds. Undeterred, Victor proceeds to make his way upstairs.

Victor persists, knocking on Linda's door repeatedly, but his efforts are met with silence. Frustrated, Linda finally responds, "Hey, if you don't want me to fire you, just get out of my door. This is my last warning."

Unperturbed, Victor asserts, "Unfortunately, you can't fire me. I'm just a shareholder in your company." Linda reluctantly opens the door, retreating to her bed, covering herself with a blanket as she sits.

"What do you want?" Linda questions, her tone a mix of curiosity and irritation.

Observing Linda, Victor remarks, "You're really a mess," covering his nose due to the unpleasant odor in the room. He questions, "When was the last time you bathed?

Don't you have something to say to me?"Linda cut in

Am worried about you Victor said

In response to Victor's concern, Linda counters, "Why do you care? I thought the only thing you're interested in is your shares."

Victor addresses her erratic behavior, "Well, I've received multiple reports that you haven't been yourself for weeks. You don't go to school or work anymore. You order alcohol every night, even though you're nineteen."

Persisting in his concern, Victor asks

, "Why do you care?" Linda questions again. Victor emphasizes, "Well, I'm a sensitive person. Things like this are hard to ignore for me. That's why I'm here. Can you open up to me? What's going on?"

Linda reveals, "Richard is back, and he now hates me like hell. His mom and sister were attacked last week in a gunshot, and his sister got shot. I wanted to offer my help emotionally, but he sent me away. What on earth did I do wrong?"

Victor questions, "Were you the one that shot his sister?" Linda shakes her head, responding, "No."

"Then why are you dealing with yourself?" Victor challenges. "He sent you away, and you're here groveling. Have you forgotten who you are? You're Linda, the owner of Prime Technology, arguably the best company in the country. A lot of people would kill to have you and you're here crying and wasting over a boy??"

"Richard is different. You know what we went through together; he helped me," Linda begins, but Victor interjects, acknowledging, "Yes, he helped you get the company back. But he's the same person pushing you away. Why on earth are you feeling bad about him?"

Linda, at a loss for words, looks at Victor. He continues, "You did your best. You wrote him letters, reached out to him more than he ever reached out to you. Now it's time for you to tell yourself that you did your best. You have to move on," Victor advises, and Linda nods in agreement.

"Prepare yourself; the company shareholder party is tonight. I want to see you there because if you don't come, I will come and drag you myself. It's time for you to meet someone better," Victor asserts as he walks out of the room.

In the hospital room, Richard and Cynthia engage in a game of chess, while Nina and Emmanuel work diligently on the computer, attempting to gather information. Cynthia breaks the silence, expressing gratitude, "Thanks for coming back for me and saving me."

Richard, feeling guilty, responds, "I should be the one thanking you for being alive. I'm sorry that I wasn't here for you. I'm sure deep down you already hate me."

Cynthia smiles warmly and hugs Richard, "You're my big brother, boyfriend, husband, dad, and everything to me. Why on earth should I hate you?" Their embrace reflects the strong bond between them.

"I'm going to make the person that did this to you pay. He's going to regret ever touching you," Richard vows in anger.

Cynthia observes, "Seems you're going back to the old Richard."

"I guess Linda is now bound to me forever that I have to keep fighting her battles," Richard reflects. "I just wished I never picked up that bodyguard flyer. By now, I should be living happily with you and Mom," he adds, playfully poking Cynthia's nose as she smiles. Their conversation highlights the impact of recent events on Richard's determination to protect his loved ones.

"You seem to forget that before you saw that flyer, you seemed lost after being sent out of school and stuff. To me, that flyer made you better; it gave you a purpose to fight for. So, if you think you never had a purpose all along, just think about Linda. How on earth did you end up with a girl like her? Do you actually think it was a coincidence or a mistake? It wasn't; this was your destiny all along. And I know it causes us pain, but if the road to greatness was that easy, then why hasn't everyone be that great?" Cynthia shares with a thoughtful smile, leaving Richard looking at her with a sense of pride. Their conversation reflects on the twists and turns of destiny and the challenges that lead to personal growth.

"I know you might hate her, but why do you think you're still stuck to her? No matter how far you run, it's because your destiny is attached to hers. So, please stop running away from it and hold on to her," Cynthia advises.

"Are you sure that you're not my elder sister?" Richard says emotionally. "How can a little girl talk this mature, even after going through such pain?" He holds onto Cynthia in a warm embrace. As they hug, Nina and Emmanuel approach them.

"We finally found his info," Emmanuel announces, breaking the moment. The discovery adds a new layer of anticipation and urgency to the unfolding situation.

Nina brings out the laptop, revealing, "His name is Gideon Hopper, 40 years old, a drug lord, a kingpin known for his bloodlust and rage. He's the head of the Falcon Maternity, the most dreaded group and the most feared."

"He's committed so many crimes, but the government seems to fear doing anything about it. He's manipulated his way into running a lot of companies. Damn, he sure is powerful," Emma remarks.

"That's why the police didn't do anything about the shooting case. It all makes sense now," Richard says, squeezing his hands in frustration. The revelation about Gideon's background adds a layer of complexity and danger to the situation, explaining the challenges faced by law enforcement in dealing with him.

"I'm not sure whoever this Gideon is, he's no joke. Are you sure you guys can go up against him?" Cynthia expresses her concern.

"Even though we chose not to attack him, he will definitely come for us later. He needs the company so badly that he's willing to kill us all," Richard explains. "So, instead of waiting for him to strike, we bring the fight to him."

"Wow, that's the Richard I heard about speaking," Emmanuel applauds.

"Nina, I need you to go back to school. Help bring my laptop and my toolbox with the AI plan and drone plan," Richard instructs, handing her a key. "It's on my table in my room, and this is the key. Get everything. Also, we need to work on new gadgets for fighting."

Emma, with a serious expression, nods in agreement. "Me and Emma will stick around and find more means to get ready for war with Gideon," Richard concludes as Nina, Emma, and Richard prepare for the impending conflict.
