MY PERFECT BODYGUARD 2 CHAPTER SIXTEEN CONFRONTATIONS AND CHOICES

After the encounter with Franklin, Richard hurried back to Damian's house, spotting Nina and Emma outside. Ignoring their presence, he rushed indoors, swiftly shedding his clothes. Emma and Nina approached him cautiously.

"How did it go?" Emma inquired, her voice tinged with concern.

"Well, not bad. I confronted Franklin," Richard replied, his tone heavy with gravity.

"But things are really going to escalate if we don't act now," he added, his expression reflecting the urgency of the situation.

"What do you mean by things might get worse?" Nina asked, her brow furrowing in concern.

"Gideon is trying to manipulate Linda using that Franklin guy. She's beginning to fall for him, and if they get married, I don't think we can contain the situation," Richard explained, his voice strained with worry.

"They're going to kill her and claim the company," he continued, his words heavy with dread, his panic palpable as he paced around the room, his breath coming in ragged gasps.

"Everything is my fault. I shouldn't have left Linda's side. Now she no longer trusts me. In fact, she now hates me," Richard lamented, his anguish echoing in the confines of the room.

"Hey, hey, hey, Richy, calm down," Nina approached Richard, gently holding him and offering a comforting hug. "It's okay, relax. We have to take things swiftly," she said, trying to reason with the situation.

As they attempted to calm themselves, a headline news report from the TV caught their attention. The reporter's voice filled the room: "Heir of Mariano Hospital was assaulted and bullied by a boy named Richard, and the police are in search of him."

After the reporter shared the news, they brought out the Commissioner of Police. He stated, "If you have come across this Richard guy, report straight to the police, and you will receive an award of $300."

Richard, seeing his face on the screen as wanted, started panicking even harder. "This is messed up, man," he muttered anxiously. As they watched the news, someone threw a stone at the window, shattering the glass and startling them. "He lives here! Let's go get him immediately!" a voice shouted from outside.

Richard hurried to the weapons room as they began packing weapons into their bags. Emma handled packing clothes while Nina kept watch. Outside, people started banging on the doors relentlessly, trying to break through the barrier. The tension in the room escalated as they prepared to face the imminent threat.

Once they finished packing their things, they slipped out through the backyard, swiftly loading everything into the cars. With adrenaline pumping, they drove as fast as they could, leaving the chaos behind. The intruders broke in, discovering their escape route through the back door. Without hesitation, they followed the trail, but by the time they arrived, Richard and his companions had vanished into the night, leaving no trace behind.

Richard, Nina, and Emma continued driving as fast as they could, their destination uncertain, but their resolve unwavering. Nina turned to Richard, her voice filled with determination, "What's the next plan?"

Richard hesitated before replying, his tone tinged with resignation, "You guys should go back to school. I don't think sticking around me will be of any good."

"Why are you like this, Richy? We're here to help, knowing full well what will happen," Nina protested, her frustration evident.

Suddenly, Richard stopped the car with such force that the occupants nearly fell from their seats. The abrupt halt signaled a moment of reckoning, as they grappled with the uncertainty of their circumstances.

"That's the problem, you guys think you know, but you don't. I've been through this before, and people around me keep getting hurt—my sister, now Linda," Richard expressed, his voice heavy with emotion.

"But we're not complaining," Emma insisted, her voice filled with sincerity.

"Yes, you are, but you don't want to admit it. Take your girlfriend and flee from this town. I will handle things on my own," Richard said, tears welling in his eyes.

He went to the trunk and retrieved his bag of weapons, his laptop, and some of his clothes. "Go back to school, please," Richard pleaded as he walked away from the car, leaving Nina and Emma stunned and surprised by his sudden actions. They sat in silence, grappling with the weight of Richard's decision.

Richard checked into a hotel down in the urban town. After settling down, he suited up and changed into clothes suitable for the task ahead, equipping himself with a stun gun and tranquilizer. His destination that night was Linda's place, determined to speak with her.

As Linda entered her house, she immediately sensed something was amiss. Her windows were open, a sign that someone had invaded her space. With quick thinking, she activated the emergency device she had with her, alerting the authorities. Moving silently through the house, she attempted to trace the intruder, her senses heightened with apprehension.

As she noticed some sound emanating from her library, Linda walked in with a baton ready for action. She encountered Richard, who raised his two arms in surrender.

"Hey, I'm not here to fight," Richard said calmly. "I'm here to talk."

"And why would I want to talk with you now? I literally spent a whole year trying to do that, which you kept me from doing. I'm already used to that, so get out of here while you still can," Linda retorted, her voice filled with frustration and resentment.

"I know I really messed up, and if I were you, I would do the same," Richard admitted, his voice tinged with regret. "But I had my reasons, although they should be good enough to keep me from you. I just hope that one day we get to talk this through. I just wanted to warn you that this Franklin guy, you need to stay away from him. He's dangerous," Richard urged.

"Of course, so I can keep chasing you around," Linda retorted furiously. "Franklin is the only guy that knows my worth more than you have ever known. So why would I listen to you when he has been here and you haven't?" she added, her anger palpable.

"Linda, this isn't about me," Richard asserted softly, his voice filled with sincerity. "I know this isn't the right time to say this, but I love you," he confessed, reaching out to touch her cheeks.

Linda recoiled, moving backwards. "Don't even think about coming any closer," she warned, her voice trembling with emotion.

As they spoke, the sound of sirens filled Linda's compound, police vehicles storming in with officers flooding every corner, heavily armed SWAT teams lining the perimeter.

The commissioner emerged, addressing Richard through a speaker. "Mr. Richard, you are heavily surrounded. You are under arrest. We advise you to turn yourself in swiftly."

Richard turned to Linda, his expression one of disbelief. "You have changed," he murmured.

"You changed me," Linda replied quietly, tears streaming down her face. "And I'm sorry, Franklin is the one that I love now," she confessed, her voice choked with emotion.

Richard approached her, drawing closer. "I called the police," Linda said, her voice breaking. "So give up now."

Richard touched Linda's cheeks gently. "I'm not going to give up on you," he declared, determination shining in his eyes as he raced out of the house, attempting to evade the gunfire. He was almost near escape when a bullet struck his shoulder, sending him crashing to the ground.

As Linda watched the scene unfold, tears streamed down her face, torn between love and duty.
