MY PERFECT BODYGUARD 2 CHAPTER NINETEEN BONDS TESTED
As the escape unfolded on the road, the police remained present, securing the entire vicinity to assess the situation thoroughly.
A sleek black Range Rover arrived at the scene, with Gideon stepping out of it. The door swung open, courtesy of one of the occupants.
Approaching the scene, Gideon surveyed the area and observed a considerable number of his men from the Falcon Fraternity being attended to. They were being carefully placed on stretchers and loaded into the emergency bus before it departed from the scene.
"What happened here?" Gideon demanded, turning to the head of his fraternity for answers.
"Don't tell me a nineteen-year-old kid slipped away from the most feared group in the continent," Gideon growled in anger, his frustration evident.
"Tell me he had help escaping," Gideon pressed as he advanced toward the leader, who recoiled, walking backward in fear.
"Sir, believe me when I say this. This kid is not just an easy opponent. He's like a wild card, to be honest. I haven't seen anything like this in my life," the leader said, earnestly trying to explain.
"You're telling me that the Falcon Fraternity, the most dreaded group in the world, is terrified by just a boy?" Gideon pressed forward, his tone laced with disbelief.
"I am sorry, for we won't let such a thing happen again," the head said, his voice tinged with regret.
"I will hold you to your word," Gideon replied, his gaze unwavering.
"It seems that this kid is ready to challenge me," he mused as he raised his phone and called Franklin. "Hey, how's things going with Linda?" Gideon asked, shifting his focus to another matter.
"Great news, sir. Things are going smoothly. She's beginning to fall in love," Franklin reported, his tone carrying a note of satisfaction.
"Good. Well, speed things up a little bit. I want that company in no time," Gideon said tersely as he ended the call.
When Richard, Emma, and Nina arrived at the new place Richard had acquired, they sank onto the couch, visibly exhausted. Richard approached them, a heavy weight of remorse evident in his expression.
"I'm really sorry, guys, for pushing you away when I knew I needed you so much. I just didn't want to put you guys in danger," Richard said, his voice laden with regret.
"You don't have to ask for forgiveness. You did what you thought was right, and that's why we'll stick up for you to the very end. You're a great leader and person, and we will fight for you as long as we can," Emma said, his
words filled with sincerity and loyalty.
"But I'm not a leader," Richard protested.
"Of course, you are," Nina replied firmly. "Your destiny is to be the leader of Prime Tech alongside Linda, and we will help you win this fight as long as we can. And by the way, we will be making history, guys. The Falcon Fraternity has caused much pain to millions of people. Imagine if we stop them. Do you know how big it will be?" Nina said, her voice filled with conviction and determination.
"Thanks, guys," Richard began. "And another thing... You guys know I'm a fugitive, right?"
"Of course, we know," Nina and Emma said in unison.
"So, what's going to be the plan?" Emma asked, her expression focused.
"Well, the war is between us and Gideon with the Falcon Fraternity, and the odds are against us. So, we need backups," Richard explained.
"What kind of backup do you mean? Are you going to call more people?" Emma inquired.
"No, we make and create our backups with drones, adding guns to them, you know," Richard elaborated.
"Wow, that's not a bad idea," Emma remarked, impressed.
"And Emma, would you like to learn how to fight?" Richard asked, turning to Emmanuel, who nodded eagerly. "Of course, I would love to," Emma replied.
"Then I will teach you what I know," Richard said with determination.
"So let's get started," they said in unison as they raced out separately to gather their tools and materials, eager to begin their work as soon as possible.
"First of all, we need about 50 propellers to start with, 100 batteries, and 152 yards of wire, both negative and positive," Richard outlined, his voice brimming with focus. "We'll also need 75 motherboards."
With their tasks set, they embarked on the mission to gather the necessary components, knowing that each piece was crucial to the success of their plan.
"Nina, do you know how we can get those?" Richard inquired.
"Of course, we can. There's a tech shop outside of the city," Nina replied confidently.
"Okay, let's all go together," Richard suggested. They quickly suited up and left with the car, determined to procure the components they needed for their project.
Linda and Franklin found themselves in a romantic setting on Linda's verandah, engaged in a chilling conversation.
"I really don't understand why they had to kill him. I know what he did was horrible, but killing him was absurd," Linda voiced her confusion.
"Well, maybe because he acted like he didn't care. That's what made the judge pissed," Franklin suggested.
"Even though I feel like he had a personal beef with Richard, he didn't even think for some minutes before passing the judgment. I'm sorry to say this, but part of me is glad that Richard got away. I couldn't imagine him getting killed," Linda admitted, her voice tinged with concern.
"You seem to still like him after everything he's done to both of us," Franklin voiced out in anger.
"Of course not. I just don't want things to go that way. I never said I like him," Linda responded defensively.
"Of course, you do. And no matter after everything I have done for you, I have always been there for you, but he hasn't. No matter how much I try to prove myself to you, you always think and care about him," Franklin expressed his frustration.
"That's not true. I really appreciate everything you have done for me. It's just that me and Richard have been through a lot together. Watching him leave this world that way won't be easy for me. Try to understand that I'm a person with feelings too, Frank," Linda pleaded, her voice tinged with sadness.
"So let me ask you," Franklin said, his voice serious.
"Ask me what?" Linda replied, her tone wary.
"Me or Richard. Who do you love the most?" Franklin asked bluntly.
"Why are you suddenly asking, Frank?" Linda questioned, taken aback by the directness of his inquiry.
"It's simple," Franklin insisted. "Just answer the damn question."
"It's you, of course," Linda said softly. "It's been you ever since Richard pushed me away."
"Well then, prove it," Franklin challenged.
"How should I do that? I literally called the cops on him because of you. I even pressed charges. How else do you want me to prove it?" Linda asked, frustration creeping into her voice.
"Marry me," Franklin said abruptly.
"What?!" Linda exclaimed, stunned by his unexpected proposal.
