MY PERFECT BODYGUARD 2 CHAPTER TWENTY THREE THE QUICK AND INCONVENIENT NOTICE
After the wedding, Linda and Franklin embarked on their journey to the villa where they planned to spend their honeymoon. While they were en route, Franklin noticed Linda lost in her thoughts and reached out to her.
"Everything okay, babe?" Franklin's touch startled Linda out of her reverie.
"Not really," she replied, her voice tinged with shock as she acknowledged Franklin's presence.
As they arrived at the villa, it greeted them with enchanting decorations and a sparkling swimming pool nestled within its confines.
"How do you find this place, babe?" Franklin inquired, his eyes gleaming with anticipation as he looked to Linda for her reaction.
"It's nice," Linda replied, her expression devoid of emotion as she surveyed their surroundings.
Once inside, they unpacked their belongings, settling into the serene atmosphere of the villa. Later, Franklin approached Linda with a suggestive tone.
"Hey, can we...?" Franklin's words trailed off as he leaned in, his lips brushing against Linda's neck.
Caught off guard, Linda gently pushed him away. "I'm sorry, but aside from the wedding, I've had a rough day," she explained wearily. "I just need some rest. Maybe some other time," she added before retreating to the bed, seeking solace in the embrace of sleep.
Franklin, angered by Linda's rejection, stormed out of their villa. Linda, noticing his departure, felt compelled to apologize and followed him to the banks of the swimming pool where he was smoking cigarettes. She couldn't believe her eyes.
"I didn't know you smoke?" Linda exclaimed, taken aback by the sight.
"Now you know," Franklin responded curtly, his tone laced with frustration.
"What's wrong with you? You should have told me," Linda retorted, her voice tinged with concern and disappointment.
"Hey, I don't think you have any right to shout at me. If I'm the man you respect, then give me my respect," Franklin fired back, his words sharp with emotion as Linda stormed off, donning her jacket as she went for a stroll to clear her mind.
As Linda distanced herself from the villa, she reached out and made a call.
"Hello, Victor. I need your help with something," she began.
"What's that?" Victor inquired.
"I want you to help me gather information on a group called the Falcon Fraternity. I need every single detail about them, everything," Linda requested urgently.
"I've heard of the Falcon Fraternity, but only by reputation. I haven't delved into knowing them well for some reasons, but I'll try my best," Victor promised, his tone conveying a sense of determination to assist Linda in her quest for answers.
After the intense encounter with the Falcon, Richard, Emma, and Nina retreated back to their hiding place, dripping wet from the ordeal.
"Wow, bro, that was the coolest thing I've ever seen. How did you make those wings?" Emma asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"Well, I crafted them with propellers," Richard replied, pulling out the bag containing the wings. "Inside this bag is a large battery of 100,000 mAh which I use to fly," he explained, demonstrating the technical prowess behind his invention.
Nina, equally impressed by Richard's ingenuity, chimed in, "Wow, you almost got all of us worried there. That was insane!" She marveled at Richard's resourcefulness in the face of danger, her admiration evident in her voice.
"Well, what's the news now?" Emmanuel inquired as Nina brought out her iPad.
"Damn, they really got married," Nina exclaimed, her voice tinged with surprise and disbelief.
Richard's mood shifted upon hearing the news. "What the hell," he muttered, his hand instinctively reaching to clutch his head in frustration.
"Anytime soon, Gideon should be coming for her," Richard said, panic creeping into his voice as he paced around the room, tears threatening to spill from his eyes.
"I need to get her. I'm the only one who can protect her," Richard declared as he moved to gather his tools and prepare to take action.
"Hey, hey," Emmanuel called out, reaching for Richard's shoulders. "I know how you feel. You're panicking, and that's normal. But you have to get your act together. You can't just burst in and take Linda."
"Then what am I supposed to do? Sit here and watch her die?" Richard's voice cracked with desperation.
"For God's sake, they're married, which means everything is Franklin's now," Richard reasoned, attempting to bring clarity to the dire situation.
As Richard continued to panic, tears streaming down his face, Emmanuel's voice cut through the tumult.
"Stop, for Christ's sake, stop!" Emmanuel shouted, his words sharp with urgency. Richard fell silent, his tear-streaked face betraying the turmoil within.
"Hey, I know what you're feeling," Emmanuel began, his tone softer now, filled with empathy. "You feel like you've failed her. But you've forgotten that you've approached her three times, and she even called the police on you once. Do you know what that means? No matter how hard you try, she'll keep resisting you."
Nina blushed at Emmanuel's mention of her exception to the rule, but Emmanuel continued undeterred.
"The point is, you've done your best to protect her, but she wouldn't see it. Instead, she kept pushing you away. So you have no choice but to wait and see how things work out," Emmanuel reasoned, his words laced with wisdom born of experience.
"How do I do that?" Richard asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"Well, we're going to add a camera to the drone and send it to her place to monitor her. We'll also try to get something she wears all the time and add a tracker to it," Emmanuel suggested, outlining their plan to keep an eye on Linda without directly intruding on her life.
"Well, let's do that," Richard said, determined to carry out their plan. "Let me go and get some stuff at the market," he added before heading out.
Nina stood on the veranda, gazing at the trees, lost in her thoughts. Emmanuel approached her, breaking the silence. "Hey, what's up?" he asked gently.
"Hey," Nina replied, a smile gracing her lips.
"Can I join you?" Emmanuel asked, his voice filled with warmth.
"Of course, you can. You're my boyfriend," Nina replied, returning his embrace as Emmanuel hugged her tightly.
"What's with the clinging?" Nina asked, smiling and blushing simultaneously.
"This mission has consumed me. I haven't made time to spend with my princess. I'm really sorry for being the worst boyfriend ever," Emmanuel admitted, his voice tinged with regret.
"No, you're not. We're helping Richard, our friend, and I'm glad we're facing this together, no matter how tough it gets," Nina reassured him, her affection for him evident in her words.
"If you ever get hurt, I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive myself," Emmanuel confessed, his concern palpable.
"Hey, don't say that. I won't get hurt because I know that you will protect me," Nina said, pressing her cheek against his.
"And besides, I chose to be here, so I'm fine with it," she added, turning to face him.
"Now that Richard will be out for a while, let's go inside and spend some time together," Nina suggested, her eyes twinkling with affection.
They went inside, ready to cherish the moments they had together amidst the chaos of their mission.
As Linda continued her solitary stroll, Victor's call interrupted her thoughts once again.
"Hey, Linda, I've found everything you need to know about this Falcon Fraternity, and it's not looking good. They have a reputation for influencing elections for prominent politicians. These politicians then ascend to government leadership to pledge their loyalty to the prime owner, Gideon Hopper. He's a drug lord, gangster, and kingpin," Victor revealed, his voice laden with concern.
Linda's mind raced as she processed the information. "Gideon Hopper... I've heard that name before. Richard mentioned something similar. And yes, I had an encounter with them on my wedding morning. Richard came to get me, but they attacked him," she recounted, the events of the day still fresh in her memory.
"Why would they attack him? Don't tell me you know Gideon?" Victor's voice brimmed with urgency.
"No, Franklin, the man I married today, said they were his guards," Linda clarified.
"I don't know what to tell you, Linda, but the Falcons are not guards for anyone except Gideon. If what you said is true, then I think your company is next to be taken. It all makes sense because you're the CEO they want to swoop," Victor concluded, his words heavy with implication.
"What do I do now? Can you help me in any way?" Linda pleaded for guidance.
"Darling, I'm willing to go into any fight for you, but if it's against the Falcon Fraternity and Gideon, I assure you, you've already lost. And I don't want to get involved with Gideon. That guy is a monster who kills for fun," Victor cautioned, his tone grave.
"How do I get out of this?" Linda pondered aloud, the weight of the situation bearing down on her. "If Franklin is working with this Gideon, then what do I do?"
"I just pushed Richard away, and I have to handle this without him, at least. Please, help me. I promise you 15% shares in the company," Linda pleaded, her desperation palpable.
"I'm sorry, darling. I wish I could help, but unfortunately, I can't. And if Richard involves himself, he will get killed. So, run away from the company as long as you can. Don't come back," Victor advised, his voice filled with regret as he cut the call, leaving Linda to grapple with the gravity of her situation alone.
